Pitch

Polyphonic pitch shifter: moves everything you play, chords included, up or down by up to two octaves. With Step on it retunes the guitar (Eb or D standard, an octave down for bass lines); with Step off the shift is continuous and sweeps like a whammy from an expression pedal. Shifting down, pick attacks arrive about 2-4 ms behind the dry signal. Shifting up, they arrive later, and more so with a larger Buffer: about 7-12 ms on 20 ms, up to about 20 ms on 60 ms. A larger Buffer splices less often and handles lower notes cleanly (20 ms for guitar, 30 ms and up for bass). Tonality lets the dry signal through unshifted above its frequency, keeping pick and string noise natural; at 20 kHz it is off. Dry/wet mix and output volume are the engine's global device parameters.

Use the parameter table above to see the available controls, ranges, and defaults. Device behavior and useful settings depend on its position in the signal chain and on the devices before and after it.

Tips

  • Begin with the default settings and adjust one control at a time.
  • Compare the device with bypass at a similar output level.
  • Save a device preset when you find a setting you want to reuse.
