Overview
Chorus mixes the dry signal with a short delay whose time moves continuously. The small pitch and timing differences make one part sound like several performances, adding width and motion to clean chords, bass, and sustained lead tones.
Rate sets the modulation speed. Depth sets how far the delay time moves, and Delay sets its center value. Shorter Delay values sound tighter, while longer values make the doubled character more obvious. Stereo Phase offsets the modulation between left and right. Feedback returns part of the delayed signal for a stronger, more resonant effect. Waveform selects smooth sine movement or more linear triangle movement. High Cut darkens the feedback path and can keep a deep setting from sounding brittle.
Tips
- For a subtle stereo clean sound, try Rate near 0.6 Hz, Depth around 2 ms, Delay near 10 ms, Stereo Phase at 90 degrees, and low Feedback.
- For an obvious slow chorus, lower Rate, raise Depth, and use a longer Delay.
- For faster vibrato like movement, raise Rate and Depth while keeping Feedback modest.
- Set Stereo Phase to 0 degrees for matching movement in both channels. Raise it for increasing stereo width.
- Lower High Cut when high Feedback creates sharp or metallic repeats.
