FX Loop
Serial send/return insert: routes the signal out a physical output jack to external gear and returns it from a physical input jack (100% wet). Defaults to FX Send 1 / FX Return 1. Parallel/blended mix is disabled until return-latency calibration exists.

Overview
FX Loop inserts external hardware at a specific point in the Axion signal chain. Audio at the device is sent to the selected physical output, passes through the external pedal or processor, and returns through the selected input. The returned signal then continues through the remaining devices.
Send chooses OUT 1, OUT 2, FX Send 1, or FX Send 2. Return chooses IN 1, IN 2, FX Return 1, or FX Return 2. The default value 2 selects FX Send 1 and FX Return 1. Send Level and Return Level are linear trims. A value of 1 is unity, values below 1 attenuate, and values above 1 add gain.
The loop is serial and fully returned. There is no dry blend, so an unplugged return or an external device that is off without bypass will silence the chain after the FX Loop.
Tips
- Connect the selected send to the external device input and its output to the selected return before enabling the loop.
- Start with both Level controls at 1. Reduce Send Level if the external input clips, then use Return Level to restore the volume.
- Place the loop before an amp device for external drives, fuzzes, and boosts. Place it after the amp for delays, reverbs, and studio processors.
- Prefer the dedicated FX Send and FX Return jacks unless the rig specifically needs a main output or instrument input.
- Bypass the FX Loop and compare levels. Large mismatches can create feedback, noise, or clipping in external equipment.
