Simple gain boost for testing
Parameters
| Parameter | Range | Default |

| Boost | 0 – 24 dB | 0 dB |
Overview
Boost is a clean level control that adds up to 24 dB without intentionally changing the tone. Use it to make a solo louder, compensate for a quiet device or pickup, or drive the input of a later amp or distortion harder.
Placement determines the result. Before a nonlinear device, extra Boost level usually creates more saturation and compression with only a modest change in final volume. Near the end of the chain, it acts more like a straightforward volume lift, provided the following devices and outputs still have headroom.
Tips
- Start around 3 to 6 dB for a solo lift, then compare against bypass in the context of the full band.
- Place Boost before an amp for more gain and sustain. Place it after the amp and cabinet for a cleaner level increase.
- Watch downstream meters when using large boosts. If a later device clips, reduce Boost or lower that device’s input or output level.
- Assign Boost bypass to a footswitch for a simple lead switch.
