Overview
Lush Reverb is an algorithmic stereo reverb for rooms, long ambient tails, and modulated spaces. Decay sets tail length, while Pre Delay leaves space between the dry attack and the start of the reverb. Diffusion controls how quickly individual reflections merge into a dense tail, and Room Size changes the scale and spacing of the reflection network.
Damping, Low Cut, and High Cut shape the tone of the decaying signal. Mod Rate and Mod Depth add movement to the tail, helping long settings sound less static. Shimmer introduces a pitched upper layer for bright, expansive textures.
Tips
- For a natural room, use a short Decay, modest Room Size, high Diffusion, and little modulation or Shimmer.
- For a clear lead reverb, try 20 to 50 ms of Pre Delay. This lets the pick attack speak before the reverb fills in behind it.
- For an ambient pad, lengthen Decay, raise Room Size and Diffusion, then add Mod Depth gradually. Use Shimmer sparingly at first.
- Raise Low Cut to keep bass from accumulating in long tails. Lower High Cut and increase Damping when the space sounds brittle.
- Put Lush Reverb near the end of the chain so drives and amp models do not distort the reverb tail unless that effect is intentional.
